Navio Consulting was built around a simple idea: private multifamily owners should have an experienced, independent operator looking at the asset from ownership’s side of the table.
Third-party management is essential, but ownership still needs an independent view of performance. Navio exists to help separate operating reality from reporting, identify what matters, and keep ownership focused on the issues that require attention.
Many private owners need experienced asset-management judgment but do not need — or want — another full-time executive. Navio provides that senior owner-side perspective in a more flexible, focused structure.
Financial statements, rent rolls, leasing reports, and operating updates only become useful when someone connects them. Navio brings those pieces together to help ownership understand why performance is moving, whether management’s response is adequate, and what should happen next.

Diego Hurtado brings more than 20 years of experience across multifamily real estate, luxury hospitality, asset management, property operations, and owner-side oversight. His background combines hands-on operating experience with senior-level responsibility for financial performance, management accountability, leasing strategy, capital planning, and cross-functional execution.
Diego’s career has included work with multifamily communities, mixed-use assets, hotels, resorts, and luxury hospitality environments. That range shaped a practical management style focused on service standards, revenue discipline, team accountability, operating consistency, and ownership visibility.
Through Navio Consulting, Diego works directly with ownership to review third-party management performance, interpret financial and operating results, identify risks, challenge assumptions, and help keep asset-level execution aligned with ownership objectives.
Diego holds an MBA in International Hospitality Management from EHL Hospitality Business School in Switzerland and a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington in the United States. He works fluently in English and Spanish and brings an international perspective to operating discipline and asset performance.
Hospitality taught Diego that strong operations are rarely the result of one dramatic decision. They come from consistent standards, disciplined follow-through, attention to detail, accountability, and understanding the customer experience. Navio applies that same operating mindset to multifamily ownership.

Every review starts with ownership’s priorities, not the property manager’s reporting structure.

Recommendations are grounded in operating reality, financial impact, market conditions, and what the management team can realistically execute.

Issues are surfaced clearly, commitments are tracked, and ownership gets a concise view of what matters, what is changing, and what needs attention next.
The property manager runs the property.
Navio represents ownership.
That principle shapes every engagement. Navio brings an independent owner-side perspective to financial performance, leasing, operations, management accountability, operating risk, and major asset decisions — helping ownership see the property more clearly and act with greater confidence.
If you own a third-party-managed multifamily asset and want more independent visibility into performance, management execution, or operating risk, let’s have a brief conversation.
